Advocate^®/Advantage multi^® – the endectocide that does what you expect

Advocate^®: Spectrum of Activity

Advocate Spot-On solution combines imidacloprid and moxidectin in a unique topical spot-on formulation, and is licensed for use on cats and dogs either suffering from, or at risk from, mixed parasitic infections.

Imidacloprid - Binds to nicotinergic receptors on post-synaptic neurone. Causes constant neuro-muscular stimulation, spastic paralysis and death of the parasite.

Moxidectin - Interacts with GABA&glutamate-gated chloride channels, causing inflow of chloride ions at post-synaptic junction, including an irreversible resting state. Causes flaccid paralysis and death of the parasite.

Use of the product provides the following spectrum of activity:

Cats and Dogs: For the treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis), treatment of biting lice (Trichodectes canis)*, treatment of ear mite infestation (Otodectes cynotis) and prevention of heartworm disease (L3 and L4 larvae of Dirofilaria immitis).

Cats:
For the treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis), treatment of ear mite infestation (Otodectes cynotis) and prevention of heartworm disease (L3 and L4 larvae of Dirofilaria immitis). For the treatment of infections with gastrointestinal nematodes (L4 larvae, immature adults and adults of Toxocara cati and Ancylostoma tubaeforme).

Dogs:
For the treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis), treatment of ear mite infestation (Otodectes cynotis) and prevention of heartworm disease (L3 and L4 larvae of Dirofilaria immitis).
For the treatment of sarcoptic mange (caused by Sarcoptes scabiei var.canis), demodicosis (caused by Demodex canis) and treatment of infections with gastrointestinal nematodes (L4 larvae, immature adults and adults of Toxocara canis, Ancylostoma caninum and Uncinaria stenocephala, adults of Toxascaris leonina and Trichuris vulpis).

Advocate may also be used as part of treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) in both cats and dogs. In addition, flea larvae in the pet's surroundings are killed following contact with a pet treated with the product.
